Mumei Juku is a small private dojo/training venue located next to the owners home in the beautiful Brittany countryside. Although Stephen's first love is his martial arts. His dojo is the ideal setting for practicing/teaching of Makko Ho (Japanese Yoga). Through this form of exercise Stephen works to maintain his flexibility as he gets older, and the meditation allows him to relax and recognise the passing of time and to appreciate each new day.

Martial Arts

The classes at Mumei Juku are small, friendly, but formal. The student through hard training will come to understand the ideas of respect and mutual courtesy.

F. Sugasawa Renshijun Shihan 7th Dan.

Stephen also belongs to the British Kendo Association and the European Kendo Federation, and teaches:-

 Zen Nippon Kendo Renmei Seitei Iai-do Gata (drawing and cutting using a Japanese sword).

The koryu of Muso Shinden Ryu Iai-do ( old style drawing and cutting using a Japanese sword).

Zen Nippon Kendo Renmei Seitei Jo-do Gata (4ft stick against a wooden sword)
